I currently work as a project manager for Blake Landscapes, an approximately $7 million dollar per year landscape maintenance and construction contractor based in Leesburg, Virginia. Like the rest of the Blake management staff, I wear many hats and my responsibilities include everything from dealing with personnel and equipment issues to sales of new business. Among my primary responsibilites are the management of of our accounts with the Metropolitan Airports Authority and Howard Hughes Medical Institute. Between those and several smaller accounts I manage a portfolio of approximately $1.6 million. So far this year I've closed sales on approximately $300,000, and I'm working on another $1 million + in new business.
This is my second term of service with Blake Landscapes, where I also worked from 2001-2005. I returned to the company in 2011 after working with Blake as an independent consultant on the successful effort to win the grounds maintenance contract at Dulles Airport.
Among my other early professional endeavors are:
- Three years working as a journalist and later newspaper ad sales executive.
- Four years serving as vice president of Property Services Enterprises, Inc.
- Owned and operated the consulting firm Evergreen Mill Group, LLC.
