Years ago, I parlayed my interest in wildlife and my love of writing this blog into a part-time dead deer removal business. Ever since then, I've been trying to figure out a way to expand the wildlife business. What else could I do that is related to wildlife - white tail deer in particular - that no one else does?
Meanwhile, I've earned the bulk of my living in the horticulture industry as a project manager with Blake Landscapes. Perhaps I should take a lesson from my friend Judy Loose over at NoVa Deer Shield.
Judy has combined her interests in horticulture and wildlife to create a company specializing in protecting plants from deer damage. NoVa Deer Shield uses two products produced by Redding Nursery that have amazing results in preventing deer from browsing on landscape plants. Judy is a Virginia certified vertebrate pest manager and performs the deer repellent treatments herself. Spring applications last up to six weeks, do not wash off with rain and, best of all, carry no offensive odor!
If you've experienced deer damage to your landscape plants or want information about protecting a new landscape planting from white tails, I highly recommend getting in touch with NoVA Deer Shield. You can reach Judy at (540)882-3703, email firstname.lastname@example.org or through the website novadeershield.com.
